After graduating from Great Bridge High School, I attended Old Dominion
University where I graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree allowing me
to teach grades 4-8.
I began my teaching career at Port Norfolk Elementary in Portsmouth where I
taught 5th grade for 3 years. I then transferred to Churchland Primary and
Intermediate where I taught 5th grade for 6 years. I came to Point O' View
Elementary in 2000 where I still remain in 5th grade, teaching math and
science.
I'm married to wonderful man, Thomas Kinsey, and we have a VERY active 1
year old, Griffen....who you will hear a lot about!!!!
I would like all of my 5th graders to be very successful in life. By
fostering a positive learning environment I want them to become independent
thinkers, self-reliant and to never be afraid of asking questions!!
I hope that my love for math and science will transfer to my students and
enrich their daily lives.
