The CAT test is fast approaching! What is this you ask? The
California Achievement Test is a standardize test that we offer here at
Reston Day School. Although we don’t take the SOL’s we do TEACH to the
standards and then go above and beyond. The CAT test will show you where your
child ranks compared to other children in the class, county, and state. It is
broken down into different categories and will be taken over the course of a
week. Information sheets will be coming home soon describing the test and the
cost of the test. This is a completely optional test. If you choose to have
your child opt out of the test he/she will partake in additional constructive
activities with the other children in the school who are not taking the test.
