Service Opportunities
Mrs. Tierney is looking for after school student volunteers to assist in processing donations and stacking shelves in the library.  If you are interested in volunteering and earning service hours for either NJHS or Confirmation, please see Mrs. Tierney.

Confirmation Date
Confirmation for 8th grade will be on Saturday, May 25th, 2013, at 2:00 p.m.  Students need to report by 1:00 p.m.

Snacks
Since we are starting school earlier, our middle school students have been given permission to eat a small snack at the beginning of our 3rd period (9:49) in the morning. The students will be eating snack while they work so they will need to have a hand free for writing.

Here are parameters that need to be followed.

      1. NO sharing of snacks at any time.
      2. NO snacks requiring spoons or two hands to eat.
      3. NO candy, chips, or really sugary snacks.

SUGGESTIONS:
      Food that is wrapped is great because the wrapper can help to keep hands clean. 
      Water bottles with plain water are the best as far as drinks are concerned.
      The food should be healthy and low in sugar. 
      Protein bars, granola bars, nuts, fruit pieces, cheese sticks, pretzels, and non-greasy crackers all are possibilities.
      Please avoid things that crumble too much – they are hard to clean up.
