7th grade-Poetry Project 7th grade students will need to have a 1/2-1 inch binder in class. It should contain 15 plastic sleeves. Students will be working on a poetry project and will also need a flash drive on which to save their work.
Missing Assignments It is extremely important that your child is paying attention in class and turning in all assignments on time. Students grades will be adversely impacted by missing assignments.
Literature binder with loose leaf paper--no spiral notebooks permitted
I post all of the Literature/Vocabulary updates and weekly information under "News Flash." Other important information is posted on my website on the left hand side. I will be posting weekly assignments and tests for Middle School. All assignments are subject to change and I will do my best to update new information as needed. As always, all assignments are posted on the board in my class room for students to write down in their planners when they enter my class room. Time will be given each day at the beginning of class for students to write down assignments. It is the students' responsibility to write down assignments. Thank you. Textbooks All Middle School students are assigned a literature textbook which is stored in the literature class room and one to take home.
Vocabulary Information
All Middle School Students: All tests and quizzes with a 77 or below must be signed by a parent. Extra credit for each unit. Please do not complete extra credit for Mastery Tests. The words in the Sadlier workbook are helpful for the SAT's, ACT's and reading comprehension.
A helpful and fun website for the vocabulary is www3.vocabtest.com
Students should keep vocabulary workbooks in backpacks to take home and be studying the vocabulary unit on which we are working a few minutes per day. Please do not work ahead in the vocabulary workbook. Students may study the words ahead of time, create flash cards and complete the extra credit form but please do not complete the workbook pages. Students may print out a couple of copies of the vocabulary extra credit form posted on my website to keep in their literature folder in case they have free time. Students can also access the following website to practice taking tests: www3.vocabtest.com Students who earn a 100 (without extra credit) on the three vocabulary quizzes in each unit, will be exempt from the review test. Extra credit is due on the day of the quiz prior to the quiz. Please have extra credit stapled before class.
