Reading: Students are required to read 20 minutes each week night and record
their results on their weekly reading log. The goal is to read 100 minutes
per week and hand in the completed log the following Monday morning.
Word Study/Monday: Cut new words. Sort words based on teacher instructions
and header categories. Write each word twice in your notebook in its correct
column. Place cut words in bag.
Word Study/Tuesday: Write all words in ABC order within each sort. Write in
your word study notebook the definition of any words that are unknown.
Word Study/Wednesday: Using Tuesday’s sort, glue your words into your word
study notebook and write each word once.
Word Study/Thursday: Choose ten words and write a complete sentence using
each of the ten words.
Word Study/Friday: Word Study test.
