What does CW stand for on the student's papers?

CW stands for class work, assignments we have discussed and gone over
together in class. I usually put a check, not a letter grade, in my grade
book. These checks go toward a class effort grade, which is averaged along
with the graded papers.

What does HW stand for on the student's papers?

HW stands for homework done at home. Homework is checked the next day as a
class or collected as a graded paper.

What does the +1 and +2 stand for on some of the students' papers?

This is a team task that has been done by a student to earn points for his
team. I use it as an effort grade and a positive work habit grade when
other class work is completed.
