Homework

Be sure to read over the summer! Each student has grown into an amazing
reader this year...keep up the great work! Read! Read! Read!

Reading homework every night for at least 20 minutes! Parents, please
be sure to sign off on the reading log and list the books your child has
read. If you would also like to read books from home, that is always
welcomed in addition to our reading group books. However, you do not have
to record additional books. In addition, if you take note of an area
your child may be struggling with (a particular word, fluency, phrasing,
pointing one-to-one, comprehension, etc.), please be sure to jot me a note.
As we discussed at Literacy Night, our groups are fluid, meaning that
student reading groups will change based on each child's individual pace and
focus. Some books may seem "easier," but with those the students are
building their phrasing, fluency, and comprehension skills--all key
components to becoming a good reader.
Again, your home support is invaluable...thank you for helping your child
become a successful 1st grade reader!
