Seasonal Changes

This year we are participating in a wonderful project where we are observing
Weather and Seasonal Changes throughout three seasons.
It's a perfect companion to our Weather Unit and Weather Observation Journals!

It's exciting to think that many schools from around the country and world are also participating (so be sure to click on the above link to see their observations)!

First, we selected a tree in front of our school to observe through the year. We will visit our tree in the Fall, Winter, and Spring (during the same week as all participating classes). By recording the temperature (at 12:00 NOON) and the sunrise and sunset times, we can compare our data with other areas of the world. We will also take notice of the changes in our clothing and outside attire as the seasons change.

Our class has teamed up with Mrs. Meier's first grade class from Village Elementary School in Hartland, Michigan. They are our Weather Pals who learn in a "Busy Bee Hive!!" Be sure to take a peak at their observations and drawings too!
