What does my child need to bring to school each day?
Please send your child to school each day with his/her backpack, B.E.E.
Binder, and library book. The reading folder inside the binder has a reading
log to complete daily, and you need to initial the calendar each night, as
well.
--------------------------------------
How can I help my child become a better reader?
Read with your child every day, for at least 20 minutes. Practice reading,
writing, and finding sight words in familiar books.
--------------------------------------
How can I help my child become a better writer?
Keep a writing journal at home. It can be as fancy as you'd like, or as
simple as sheets of plain paper stapled together. Encourage your child to
write every day about a small moment that occurred in his/her day. Praise
your child's attempts at sounding out words, and encourage him/her to
stretch out the words to hear every sound.
--------------------------------------
How can I help my child with math?
Read the book sent home at Back to School Night for specific strategies and
tips. Make snack time or play time a counting adventure. Count the number
of crackers and make simple addition sentences. Use small cars or building
blocks for counting activities. Email me for more suggestions.

What if my child needs to ride another bus home?
Please send in a dated note explaining which bus your child is to ride, the
location of his/her stop, and who will be meeting your child at the bus
stop. You can send it in your child's daily folder, or email it to me
before 9 a.m. the day of the change.
