Welcome to our class! I am a career teacher with 18 years of experience.
This is my 11th year teaching at Trantwood. I previously taught 3rd grade
here at Trantwood, 1st grade at Indian Lakes Elementary, and 5th grade at
the Singapore American School in Southeast Asia. My certification is Pre-
school through 8th grade. I am married and we have two sons. Adam is a
recent ODU graduate, and Blake (a Trantwood alumni), is a Jr. at
Cox HS. The other family members at our house are an orange Tabby named
Nicholas, and a Golden Retriever named Bailey. I look forward to a great
year with you all!
I feel very blessed to have been chosen three years in a row for "Who's Who"
among American educators by three of my former students, now in college! I
am also proud to have been chosen by my colleagues as Trantwood's 2008
Teacher of the Year!
My mission is for your child to have a positive learning experience in the
4th grade! In order for this to happen, I look forward to being a team
player with you and your child. I feel as if our class is a family, and
want you and most importantly your child to know that this is a safe place
for them to learn and experience new things! Children must feel a sense of
joy and hope in their school day in order to suceed. Together we can
prove that we will accomplish great things!
