About The Teacher

     Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year! My name is Angie Roper, and this
year I have the privilege of serving as your child’s 3rd grade teacher.  Born
into a Navy family, I was lucky to have spent most of my growing up years in
Virginia Beach.  I attended a small college in Pennsylvania where I received a
degree in Family Studies. I worked as an academic guidance counselor and
educational therapist in Yorktown before returning to school where I earned my
Masters in Education from the College of William & Mary. I come from Norfolk
with experience in teaching first and second grade, and am very excited to
have the opportunity of joining the wonderful faculty at Trantwood Elementary! 
My love for teaching is confirmed everyday when I see “my kids” with their   
  sparkling eyes, bright smiles, and a determination to learn. 

     In my free time you will probably find me trying to train my one year old
black lab puppy, Duncan, running, surfing, or curled up on my couch reading a
good book.  I also love to travel, spend time with my family and friends, and
eat chocolate chips cookies!
