Keep working on AR points. Third six weeks is a very busy one. Don't wait
until the end. Get those points before the holidays!!
Lots of new books...come by to get one, try one of our new
playaways, or read an audio book. Lots of new magazines also! Come by
before school or 2:00 on Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
EXCITING NEWS!!!! We now have AR Enterprise up and running. This gives us
access to over 120,000 AR quizzes! Just click under Links and AR Book List.
Then, click Student, Parent, or Teacher. You can type in the name of your
book to find quiz availability, reading level, and point value. You can also
get recommendations of books of your interest or reading level.
Please email me or come to see me if you are worried about your AR points. I
can give you a list of all of the books that we've read in the library and
can help you find something you would like to read. Don't forget to take
your quizzes on the books we read in the library!!

BECOME A TVEMS ALL-STAR...
This year TVEMS students will again be required to earn a specific number of
AR points each six weeks according to reading levels (all students in grades
2+ will be tested to determine levels). Students earning the required number
of points every six weeks will become an All-Star and earn a gold medal on
Awards Day. We will also have Game Day mid-semester and an AR store in the
spring. So, READ, READ, READ!! We've got lots of great books. And, in the
next few weeks, we will have access to all AR quizzes that are available.
A NEW LOOK....
A special book fairy visited TVEMS Library this summer and left us lots of
Great Places to Read! We have new sofas and chairs as well as new bean bags.
So, next time Mrs. Street says, "Now lets find a great place to read," she
won't have to bring in her beach towels and chairs. We've got lots of
beautiful new places to enjoy reading. Thanks Special Book Fairy!!
NEW TECHNOLOGY LAB...
We have a new technology lab in our library that is state-of-the-art. We'll
be reading eBooks and audio books in the lab. Now, after we have finished a
great book together in the library, we can all go take the AR quiz.
OLD NEWS...
Several of our favorite books are still missing or unpaid for from last
year. Please look around your house and return those missing books. One
good book for the library costs about $16 to replace. If returned, nothing
will be said, just a great big THANK YOU for returning them!! Students with
lost books will only be allowed to check out 1 book until all are turned in.
If you can't find a missing book, please see Mrs. Street. Several were
turned in over the summer.
