Information packets sent home with parents or children. Science Fair Project
Choice Form will be given out.
Signed parent letter, from the front of your packet, is due.
Science Fair Project Choice form is due to the classroom teacher.
Teachers will return Science Fair Project Choice forms to students with teacher
approval.
Students will work on their 4 question strategy paper and experimental design
diagrams.
4 question strategy paper is due to the classroom teacher.
Experimental design diagram is due to the classroom teacher.
Students will be conducting their experiments. Remember that you need at least
3 trials. The more trials, the better. Be sure to keep accurate and detailed data
records.
Detailed data records from all experiments conducted are due to classroom teachers.
Students will be working on completing their research paper and creating their
tri-fold displays.
All projects, reports and tri-fold included, are due to classroom teacher. Students
Need to be prepared to present their oral presentations in class.
Judging of the Science Fair projects will be conducted.
Family Night: Families and friends are invited to Victory Elementary to view the
science projects created by the students. The winners will be announced.
7:00 -8:00pm in the cafeteria.
Planned Experiment: Students need to bring in two choices for their project just in case their first choice is not an acceptable project.
The effect of Independent Variable on Dependent Variable.

Procedure
Your procedure should let anyone else duplicate your experiment. This is like a cooking recipe. Read through what you have written to make sure that your steps make sense and that no steps are left out. You may write on the back or attach a separate piece of paper if necessary.

Results/Data Analysis
What did you observe or see happening? The data is the information gathered through the experiment. In your report and display, include photographs, drawings, graphs, charts and or tables to display the results of the experiment.
Your project must include a data table and a graph.
Data Table
Example: The effect of different types of liquids on plant growth.

Graph: An appropriate graph should be made on the computer or neatly by hand. See Kid’s Zone Create a Graph at http://nces.ed.gov/nceskids/createagraph/default.aspx
REMEMBER: All measurements must be in metric units
You will need to turn in a chart/data table and a graph. Use a paper clip to attach your data to the back of this page.
Data Analysis-This is a brief paragraph that restates your results. It is not the place to explain your results, just report them. What happened step by step as you did the experiment?

Conclusion
After you have completed your experiment and looked over your data, what did you find out? Go back to your hypothesis. Does this prove that your hypothesis was correct or does it show that your hypothesis was wrong?
Remember the acronym RERUN to make sure you have everything that should be included for you hypothesis.
R=Recall: Describe what you did.
E=Explain: Explain the purpose of your experiment.
R=Results: State the results. Was the hypothesis supported by the data?
U=Uncertainty: Describe any errors that might have been made
N= New: Write 2 new things that you learned.
Write 2 questions for further investigations.
