Reminders

Please check your child's agenda and initial it each night.

There is no word study next week.

Edulink and Grades

Grades are updated at least once per week. If you do not have a username and password, you need to contact the office or Mr. Brusati. Please check edulink to see your child's grades. Many students are talking excessively in class and have not turned in assignments. Overall, grades are lower this quarter.

Math

We will have a fractions test on Monday, the 26th. A study guide has been sent home over the long weekend. This study guide was begun in class.

Science

There will be a test on light next Friday. A study guide has been sent home over he long weekend.

This study guide was started in class.

Social Studies

We have been learning about the earliest colonies in North America. So far we have learned about the New England and Mid-Atlantic colonies. Next week we will learn about Jamestown and the Southern colonies.

Reading and Language Arts

Students should read at home nightly for 30 minutes. We are now working on writing essays. Students are expected to write one essay per week. We are also studying point of view and are learning how stories present clues for the point of view in their text. Today we took a practice SOL writing test. Each test will be graded by two teachers, much like the real SOL test is graded by two persons. Each student will receive feedback as to how they did on this practice test.

Reading logs are available on this web site. If you do not have a printer, I supply copies on Fridays. Logs were handed out today in class.

Have a good long weekend,

Mrs. Sheryl Roberts
