Will you celebrate my child's birthday in class?
We would love to celebrate your child's birthday in class! You may send in a small treat, such as cookies, cupcakes or something else which is individually packaged. If your treat is chocolate, make sure you have an alternative for the children who cannot eat chocolate. Thanks for your help!Back to Top
What is the classroom discipline system?
There are several systems in place in the school and our classroom for managing the childrens behavior. In our classroom, each of the students has a green, yellow and red card in their cubby. All students will start the day on green and move to yellow then red after several warnings about their behavior. Students who stay on green all day will receive a sticker on their PAWS-itive Action Chart in their folder. Any students on red will receive a note home. Students who stay on green will also receive a ticket. At the end of each day, I will choose two tickets and those students will receive a treat from the prize box. Students can also earn tickets throughout the day for showing good behavior in the classroom. Our school also uses "paws" as a reward for students showing exceptional behavior above and beyond normal expectations. When a student has earned 5 mini-paws, they will receive a Mega Paw certificate.Back to Top
