Government textbook
Pen / pencil (all tests and papers must be done in pen other than red).
Grading: A 100 - 94
Tests 50% B 93 - 86
Quizzes 25% = 9 Weeks Grade C 85 - 78
Homework 25% D 77 - 70
E 69 - Below
Tests:
Announced in advance.
3 or 4 each nine weeks.
Project counts as 1 or 2 test grades (details when assigned).
Quizzes:
Announced and unannounced.
Approximately 10 quizes each nine weeks.
Always bring your book unless told otherwise - if there is an open book
quiz and you do not have YOUR book, you may not get your's nor borrow
one.
Makeup quizzes may be different than the quiz missed.
Homework:
Collected and checked for accuracy.
Late homework must be turned in the day after it is due. Late work is
usually accepted but the grade will be penalized.
If you do not understand a homework assignment, ask for clarification
before it is due.
It is an honor violation to copy answers from another person's assignment.
Planners:
You must have YOUR planner with you to be excused from class to go
ANYWHERE. If you have a reoccurring medical problem, please see the
nurse to get a pass to be excused from class.
Absence / Makeup Work:
Students are responsible for all missed work (assignments, notes, etc.).
Students who are absent are expected to have the work that was due,when
absent, upon their return.
Unexcused absences will result in a zero on all assignments.
Makeup work is the responsibility of the student. Ask me for handouts.
Get all other notes from someone reliable immediately upon your
return.
Makeup work is to be arranged with me and to be done outside class time.
The absence policy requires teachers to mark your grade as 69 / E for
the semester if you have missed more than 6 days. If extenuating
circumstances exist and a waiver is granted, you will receive the
grade you have earned. Remember, their is a strong correlation
between attendance and achievement.
Student Conduct:
The school tardy policy will be enforced:
1st Tardy Warning
2nd Tardy Warning
3rd Tardy Detention (7:00 a.m. or 2:05 p.m.)/ call home
4th Tardy Referral to office
This means in YOUR seat, not running through the door.
Students late to school within the first fifteen minutes of first block
should report to class.
Gum is NOT to be seen, smelled or heard.
NO FOOD OR DRINKS ALLOWED!!
No walking around during class and you are to stay seated until the
bell rings.
Students are expected to adhere to all provisions in the Frank W. Cox
handbook, specifically the HONOR CODE.
