Extra Credit - Community Service

 

 

Community Service - to be done from Monday,  April 20, 2009 and to be completed by Friday, June 5, 2009.  Legible documentation (verified by someone other than a family member) and required information must be turned in by Tuesday, June 9, 2009 - 2:00 p.m.   

          

 

                        NO LATE FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED!!!

 

 

  5 Hours =  1 point

          10 Hours =  2 points                 Added to 9 weeks final average

15 Hours =  3 points

 

 

Community Service includes one or more of the following examples:

 

1)  Nursing/Assisted living homes- visiting the elderly, singing,          

     making slippers

2)  Political activities - distributing flyers, polls, telephone contacts

3)  Church - working in nursery, feeding homeless

4)  Community-related school activities - Key Club, Operation Club

      activities that benefit the community

5)  Coaching community league sports

6)  Hospital volunteer

7)  Working with the homeless

8)  Public libraries - filing, putting books on shelves

9)  Giving blood

        10)  Organized environmental cleanups

        11)  Walk-a-thons

 

 

Any questions concerning what is considered "community service" should be addressed with the teacher before committing to the service or it may not count.
