Mission For The Class

   Government is entwined in almost every aspect of our daily lives.  U.S. 
and VA Government examines the way in which government in the United States 
is organized and the impact that many aspects of government have on the 
lives of citizens.  Throughout the course, students are asked to think 
critically about the events and issues that have both shaped the U.S. 
political system and affected its place in the global community.  The 
development of critical thinking skills is essential to effective 
citizenship. Such skills empower a person to exercise one's civic rights and 
responsibilities.
