10/07 Thank you to everyone for your well wishes about being Woodstock's
Reading Teacher of the Year!
11/07 I enjoyed my time with parents and families of our students during
conference week. I gain a deeper understanding of each child from hearing
about his/her home life and previous school experiences. Let's continue to
stay in touch as the year unfolds.
A special thank you to the parents who have been sending in
items off of our classroom wish list. I will continue to update it as the
year goes on. Thank you so much for your generosity.
12/07 A special thank you goes out to several members of our Woodstock
school family for visiting our classroom today to help out during our second
Celebration of Writing. During Writers' Workshop the students have been
working hard to make their writing readable by using appropriate spacing,
uppercase letters, punctuation, etc. Their writing skills were put to the
test today when adults from the school came to read their writing. Many
thanks to Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Erwin, Mrs. Bramble, Mr. Gavin, Ms. Pulley, and
Ms. Johnson for making our second celebration a success. The writers were
able to proclaim: "Other people can read my writing!" in celebration of
their hard work. Check out the classroom movies page for a slideshow of the
event.
1/08 Parents, report cards go home on February 1. Please sign and return
as soon as possible. We are currently compiling the ingredients to make our
100th Day of School trail mix. Make sure to send in your assigned item by
February 4th. Thanks for your help in making our 100th Day a success! Look
for pictures of Day 100 to be posted after Feburary 7.
2/08 Kudos to Mr. and Mrs. Mobbs for their help on the 100th Day of School.
We couldn't have completed our trail mix without them-thank you so much!
3/08 A notice went home to all families about our next Celebration of
Writing, which will be held the
morning of April 17. Each child has invited their family members to attend.
Please RSVP. If you are
unable to attend, consider sending a neighbor, aunt, friend, etc in your
place. The kids can't wait to
show off their hard work! We're looking forward to seeing you then.
4/08 A BIG thank you to all the family members who were able to join us for
our Fifth Celebration of Writing. The kids were so proud to show off their
published pieces. They really felt special. Please note that third quarter
report cards go home on Friday, 4/21. Please review and be in touch if you
have further questions/concerns. Thanks for all you do at home to support
our learning here at school.
