I moved to Virginia Beach after graduating from James Madison
University in 2002. Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Virginia Beach was
unchartered territory for me! I have grown to love my Sunday afternoons on
the beach and couldn't imagine spending the last few years of my
life anywhere else. This will be my fourth year teaching first grade at
Woodstock Elementary and my fifth year working for Virginia Beach City
Public Schools.
I am especially interested in children's reading and writing
development and I am currently pursuing a Master's Degree from UVA in
Reading Education to become a reading specialist. I will graduate this
spring. In the meantime, I look forward to continuing this journey of
teaching first graders at Woodstock. Here's to a great year in Room One!
We want Room One to be a safe place, where everyone in our class family
feels respected and has the opportunity to learn.
