Why do different children have different spelling lists?

We use a word study(spelling) program which meets the individual needs of
each student. Students are assessed on their spelling abilities at the
beginning of the year and are placed in group based on their developmental
needs. These groups are flexible and may change throughout the year.

What is a Think It Out?

A 'Think It Out' is a paper that students may be asked to fill out if they
need to reconsider a choice they've made. The students write about what
happened and what they could have done differently. If your child brings
home a 'Think It Out', please read it over with them and discuss what they
have written. Then sign and return it back to school with your child.

How do the reading logs work?

Students are expected to read 300 or more minutes a month to be able to
attend the reading party. Please remember to sign and record the reading
log nightly for your child.

Can I volunteer for the classroom?

Of course! All parents(and grandparents too)are certainly welcome to
volunteer! We can always use the extra assistance whether you would like to
help out in the classroom, making copies, field trips or providing items for
the classroom.
