Congratulations to Oliver and Justice! They received the outstanding student awards and will be recognized at a Vermont Lake Monsters' game this summer. 
Reading
Students are working very hard during reading time!
They will be taking the unit five assessment and reviewing next week. The following week they will be taking the SRI assessment.
Writing
Students will be writing different types of poems these next few weeks. Students will begin writing reports on the human body next week. We have been researching different systems and they will pick one system to report on.
Field Trip
On May 31st, we will be going to the Dairy Center to go bowling. Permission slips will be sent out very soon.
Book Projects

Science
Students are learning about the human body. Some of the goals for this unit are:
*Identify characteristics that are inherited from a biological parent (eye color, height...)
*Explain how internal and external body parts help humans survive
*Explain how saliva, tears, and skin protect the body from harmful germs
