Course Assignments

For the 2006-2007 school year:

All students must return their handbook and permission slips by Thursday,
September 7, 2006, and additionally will be required to complete their on-
line "Safety" units by Monday, September 11, 2006. After completion of
their "Safety" unit, students will be allowed to start 'tasks' in the shop
area. Without completion of the Safety Unit, students are not allowed in
the shop area. Students with completed Safety Unit and thier signed
permission slips may schedule their personal vehicles in for "flexible study
day" starting Friday, September 15. 2006. All vehicles brought into the
shop must have proof of insurance and students must have a valid
drivers license.

Students in good standing with unit work and tasks, will be eligible
for "flexible study" Fridays each week.

All class work Monday-Thursdays, must be in the students study area,
and personal vehicle work must be done only if it is in the study
area and approved by the instructor. Additionally, each Monday and
Tuesday, students will participate in 'classroom' activities and
presentations regarding areas of study.

Fridays will continue to be "flexible study" days for students to work in
areas of familiarity or study as approved by the instructor. This
includes washing/detailing of personal vehicles, but they will be
inspected by instructor for work credit.

All multiple hour students have first priority to sign up for and check out
a school tool box for use in class. All advanced/multiple hour students
must either supply their own tools or sign a tool agreement for a tool box
with a chosen student partner. Students will be held responsible for the
inventory of their tool boxes. Upon a reasonable timeline, single hour
students may sign up with their instructor to check out boxes on a first-
come-first-served basis.

All students interested in the AYES Internship for summer 2007, check
in with Mr. Donaldson imediately. Parents with questions may call or
e-mail me with the shortcut to my e-mail on the uper right of the
home page of this site.

"Senior", returning students who have completed the "basic units" may apply
to Mr. Donaldson for a 'Contract Study' unit. These units are especially
appealing to students who want to complete particular 'projects' prior to
graduation.
Student and Instructor will complete a commonly agreed to 'contract' and
will be evaluated by his/her progress on the same. Grades and credits will
be granted for successful completion of the 'Contract Study' unit.
