About The Teacher

Fred Donaldson is an ASE Master Certified, trade journeyman with over
30 years in the auto service industry. After running my own
automotive repair business for nearly eighteen years, I have been at
Auburn High School since 1983, and teach industry classes at Green
River Community College in the evenings. My sincere goal it to
provide you with a learning enviroment where you may safely practice
and perfect your skills in the automotive service trade. My
expectation of each student is that they come to class with an
attitude that allows them to do their very best and to allow all
others to perfect their skills also.

Mission For The Class's

The mission for the Auto Service Technology Class is to prepare
students for a career in the auto service trade. The primary concern
of the instructor is to provide a safe, learning enviroment where
where students can progress at a convenient pace and master their
skills. The expectation is that the students will come with an
attitude to learn the trade and hopefully continue in their education
and attain a career.
The Auburn High School Automotive Program is the first and only
secondary program to be Master ASE Certified by NATEF in the
Northwest. This means students have a unique opportunity to attain
training second to none and have many employers seeking their skills.
We are looking for students seeking a fundamentally strong knowledge
of electronics and physics, while being capable of communicating and
applying mastered skills to solving technical problems. Students
will study the theory of all systems of the modern automobile while
mastering employability skills they may use in any career they choose.

The mission of the Small Gas Engine Class is to provide a base level of
understanding into the theory of gas engines, and introduce students into
another alternative career. The small gas engine repair industry is
desparate, much like the automotive repair to find qualified technicians.
This class also allows both student and instructor a chance to explore the
field enought to think of a career path into automotive also.
