2011-2012 will be my thirty-third year of teaching! I taught the first
twenty-six years in Burbank, Washington. I left Burbank to teach third
grade at Jason Lee Elementary in Richland in order to be closer to my home.
Although I definitely enjoyed my year at Jason Lee, I found that I missed
the middle school level student and for that reason requested a transfer to
Carmichael Middle School five years ago. I absolutely love teaching math at
Carmichael! My experience includes teaching students of all instructional
levels at all grade levels from kindergarten through eighth grade. I received
my bachelor's degree from Washington State University in 1978 and my master's
degree from University of Phoenix in 2000.
I live in Richland with my husband, Mark. Shauna, my daughter, is 29. She
lives in Montana with her husband and my first grandchild, Jolee. My second
granddaughter, Shae, is expected in November. Shauna and her husband are both
teachers. Randy, my son, is 26 and a recent grad from WSU. He hasn't quite
landed his first post-college job. We are keeping our fingers crossed!
Teaching, reading, scrapbooking, cooking, walking and watching WSU sports are
some of my favorite things to do. Go COUGS!
