Clover Park School District, under the management of Sodexho America Food Services, provides students with low-cost nutritionally balanced meals. Elementary students are offered seven different entree choices as well as fruits, vegetables and milk. Seventeen elementary schools offer breakfast.

Students at all schools use a debit card system to purchase meals. Funds can be placed on the debit card in any denomination. Free and reduced price meals are available to students who qualify. Application forms are available at each school office and must be completed and submitted to the school for approval by the principal or designated official. For more information, call 583-5490.


The Basic Food Program expanded to serve more families as of Oct. 1, 2008, the income eligibility requirement for Basic Food, formerly known as food stamps, increased to 200 percent of the federal poverty level. This increase enables more families to qualify for free meals in school districts throughout the state, including Clover Park.

Free and Reduced-Price Meals: Serving Washington's School Children


OLYMPIA -Washington public schools play a vital role to all students in need by providing free and reduced-price meals. The application process is simple and confidential.


All households with income levels below certain amounts (see the tables below) are encouraged to apply for any or all of the following programs, which are administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture:

* National School Lunch Program

* School Breakfast Program

* Special Milk Program


The USDA charges 40 cents per reduced lunch and 30 cents per breakfast. Washington, however, pays all reduced price lunch costs for public school students in grades kindergarten through third grade, and all reduced-price breakfast costs for public school students. The Special Milk Program may provide free milk, depending upon the school, for all eligible students......
