This site will provide you with study materials to enhance your learning experience in my classroom. The GED level 1 Language Arts class is ten weeks long. Weeks 1-3 will focus on literature and writing. Weeks 4-6 will focus on social studies and writing. Weeks 7-9 will focus on science and writing. The last week is reserved for GED practice testing and individual study groups. You will be tested on science, social studies and literature immediately following each three week study session. Writing will be assessed during the last week of classes.
You can find my office hours, syllabus, vocabulary words, and the PowerPoint presentations I use in the classroom available to you after class hours on this site. I have also included several links that I think will be helpful to you in achieving your educational and career goals.
To find my PowerPoint presentatations, go to the subject we have most recently studied. For example, if we finish a unit in the science book, go to the science link on the left hand column of this page. If you are looking for next week's vocabulary or past vocabulary, click on the word, "Vocabulary" in the left hand column of this page.
Using PowerPoints: When you click on the Powerpoint presentation make sure to look at the top of the page and click on the slide show view. You can choose to view the show from the beginning or from your current page. By choosing the slide show option, you will be able to click on the hyperlinks I have included in the slide show and get access to videos and websites that we looked at while in class.
