Life in Kindergarten...

Well, here we are in almost our last home stretch. Can you believe your child's kindergarten year is nearly over?! I sure can't. It's been so enjoyable teaching your little ones each day and I can't wait to see what more they will accomplish throughout fourth quarter.
We have only four letters left to learn. Yahoo! This means your child should fluently be blending sounds into words. They should also be reading their practice homework in 30 seconds or less. Again, I want to emphasize that your children are not memorizing the words, but encouraging fluency as we head into fourth quarter will be vital to your child's reading success in first grade.

Thanks for all your hard work practicing story problems at home. With only a few kids under grade level, I can tell your extra practice really helped! This month we'll be focusing quite a bit on sorting by specific attributes and identifing shapes. We'll get back into 3-D shapes, so pointing out spheres, cubes, cones, and cylinders in the real world would be great help! Also, each child should be able to count from 1-100 with very little prompting, so please quiz your child every few weeks to ensure they're doing okay with knowing number order.
Thank you so much for your continuous support and don't hesitate to call, email, or send a note with any questions or concerns! Remember: our goal is to have everyone here EVERY DAY, ALL DAY, ON TIME!
