About The Teacher
Hello! I am so happy to have the opportunity to teach third grade this year. Teaching sixth grade has been a rewarding experience, but I am looking forward to teaching third graders again! Before teaching sixth grade here at Emerson for the past three years, I taught third grade for three and a half years in Stockton, California. In 2005, my family and I had the chance to move to this beautiful state, so we did. After getting settled in our new home, I began to guest teach in Snohomish, and then I was offered an opportunity to teach sixth grade at Emerson. That was the beginning of a wonderful experience! Emerson has wonderful students, parents, and staff. There is no place I would rather be! I received my B.A. degree, Preliminary Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential, and California's Professional Clear Credential from California State University, Stanislaus. I finished my Master's in Education with a specialization in Integrating Technology in the Classroom during the summer of 2008. Currently, I am working on my Professional Teaching Certificate, which is a higher level of certification in Washington. I am always looking for ways to better serve my students and their families. Your input is always appreciated, so please, feel free to contact me by phone, email, or in person. I look forward to an amazing school year! Colleen DeLorenzo
Mission Label:
Mission
My mission, as a teacher, is to provide every student with a learning environment in which he or she feels safe, respected, cared for, special, and successful. The parents and guardians of Room 2 will be provided with varying opportunities to support their children inside and outside our classroom. I will strive to teach all students problem-solving skills and ways to build upon their strengths. By providing Emerson students with these essentials everyday, I will be assisting them in their development of the self-esteem and confidence that is required for them to reach their goals.
