Mrs. McIntosh

Hi! My name is Mi Ri (pronounced "Marie") McIntosh. I have taught at
Evergreen for the past 8 years, and I truly enjoy teaching on Joint Base
Lewis McChord.
My background includes being a military wife and travelling all over the map
for the Army. Our three sons and I have experienced TDYs, PCSs, deployments,
and a final ETS with my husband right here on this base. We have seen much,
learned much, and enjoyed what the Army has had to offer us. After staying
home to raise our 3 sons for much of my husband’s Army career, I am finally
fulfilling my second career and doing what seems to be my “calling”: Teaching
your children.

A few guidelines I live and work by are:
•	I take your child’s education seriously and believe your in his/her
success in meeting our district and state academic standards.
•	I believe your child is precious and I approach them as I would want
my own child to be approached-with respect, kindness, and reasonability
while considering their age and development.
•	I believe strongly in a partnership between home and school. We work
together to “sandwich” your child to best reach his/her goals.
•	Communication is absolutely essential to create a safe and successful
environment for your child and I encourage all parents and family members to
use any means comfortable to discuss concerns or questions.

Your child will work in an environment that promotes thinking, problem-
solving, taking risks, and teamwork. Characteristics like working together,
being kind and considerate, and having fun while learning are promoted. I
will encourage and expect each child to “be all you can be!”
Students will be recognized for effort and will be given a COOL Kid ticket to
bring home. Please communicate with your child on a daily basis about
his/her day at school and let me know if there is anything else I can do to
work with you as partners for your child's success.

Thank you for taking the time to read this!!

"Be All That You Can Be!"
