For being in the library today, you did pretty well.  I'm proud of the steps you took to improve.  Ni Jina Gani sounded better by the end of rehearsal.  Please remember to have your permission slips back to me ASAP for next Wednesday, 4/25.

We watched videos of your two songs.  I need to hear and see more commitment from some of you.  Our work on Ni Jina Gani was a bit disheartening.  By the end, we were beginning to tune our chords better.  You need to be secure on your first note of the chorus each time we sing it.  Please make sure you review both songs this weekend.  On Monday we will check your progress again.

Vivaldi Gloria in D

Unfortunately, a downer in class today.  We must have focus and dedication to each other from everybody.  Please reflect on the following in your DW: Knowledgeable vs. Ignorant & Open-minded vs. Close-minded.  Please come to class on Wednesday ready to hit the ground running.

Ladies and gentlemen.  We have some work ahead of us.  Please make sure that you are doing your homework as assigned.  You really hold the team back if you don't.  On YouTube there are some great resources for practicing the Gloria!

Students took the Vivaldi quiz today.  The result was less than stellar.  Please prepare to be in Pride Lunch to retake the quiz in order to meet standard.  There will be a few different questions.  Today, we also did our music theory post-assessment.  Students showed me what they knew and could do when it came to reading music, a skill we have been honing all semester.

I found out today that middle school students may not be able to perform at Solo & Ensemble this year.  I am working with the Mountain Region leadership of WMEA to include 7th & 8th graders in this excellent learning opportunity.
