Welcome to Ms Brooks Kindergarten web page. Our class is off to a great start.
Identifying the sounds in words continues a strong second quarter focus. Listening for the different sounds in words are critical skills when learning how to read. Practice reading pretend words like bof or zam. These skills will be tested in the spring. Check out the link to take an AR quiz. Just type in the books title and take a quiz on books students have read or caregivers have read to students.
Our math focus will be counting out objects to 31,counting to 100 and counting backward from 10. Joining and separating with 10 as a target, commonly known as addition and subtraction are a focus this next quarter. Look for opportunities during the day to practice these skills.
