I moved to Washington from California two years ago. While in California,
I taught 5th grade for many years.
I live in Federal Way with my husband, Tom, who is a Seattle
Police Detective, and our Senegal parrot, Junior. We have five children; a
daughter, Jennifer, who lives in El Paso, Texas, with her husband, and our
two grandchildren; a son, Alex, who lives in Seattle with his new wife,
Caren, a daughter, Erin, 22, who attends the University of San Diego, Craig,
20, is a junior at Sonoma State University, in Northen California, and our
youngest, Kyle, who lives with us here in Federal Way.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy playing tennis, Scrabble and other word
games, reading, and movies.
I am currently working on the requirements for National Board
Certification. While the process is difficult and involved, it is also making
me a better teacher.
