Instructions: 
	Choose one of the following questions to answer in a 5-paragraph 
expository essay format.  
	Your essay should be 500 to 750 words in length (about 2 to 3 pages). 
	Use your Writing Notebook to help you with your organization. 
	You do not need to type your final copy; however, if you do, use 
Times New Roman 12 pt. font and double-space.

Prompt 1.	Sometimes the point of view or perspective in the story 
changes from Torak, to the wolf pup, or to Renn. Use at least three textual 
details to explain why the author changes the point of view.

Prompt 2.	Is Torak the Listener? How does the prophecy work to create 
interest for the reader? Use at least three textual details to explain your 
answer. 

Prompt 3.	Analyze the structure of the plot using the traditional model 
of Rising Action, Climax, and Falling Action. How does the dramatic tension 
rise to the climax and release when the author reaches the resolution of the 
story? Use at least three textual details to explain your answer.

Prompt 4.	Is the culture portrayed in the novel Neolithic, Paleolithic, 
or a mix? What categories of civilization can you find in the novel? Use at 
least three textual details to explain answer.
