Lochburn Middle School Library
Internet Use Guidelines 2011-2012
We have Internet access on Lochburn computers. There is a limited filter on the computers in this district, as required by law. However, no filter is completely foolproof. We continue to ask for parent permission for students to use computers with Internet access.
The following guidelines for using the Internet will apply to ALL Lochburn Students in order to insure successful computer use and safety:
- Students are allowed to use computers only if they have a permission form on file at Lochburn, signed by a parent or guardian. Signed forms must be returned whether permission is granted or not. Stickers will be applied to ID cards upon receipt of the form.
- Any student sitting at a computer must have their ID card, with Internet sticker, visibly displayed at that computer.
- Computers are to be used for ACADEMIC USE ONLY. Materials may not be printed without permission from staff.
- Students may not change computer settings or tamper with the computer in any way.
Minimum Consequence for not following the above guidelines and/or using the Internet in an appropriate way will mean LOSS OF INTERNET and/or COMPUTER SERVICES for an extended period of time.
Further consequences will be determined by the Librarian, Teachers, or Principals, as appropriate, and according to Lochburn discipline policy.
