We look forward to providing your child many educational opportunities this school year. At Lochburn a climate exists where respect and courtesy is shared by all. Your support and partnership in helping us maintain a safe and orderly environment focused on student academic achievement is greatly appreciated. Lochburn utilizes Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing data to identify and address areas in which students need additional instruction. MAP testing occurs three times a year allowing progress over time to be measured. MAP scores are one data source used to determine the Accelerated Learning Program students will be assigned to for additional mathematics instruction. The focus MAP data brings to instruction allows instructors to advance student learning and better prepare students to succeed on the Washington Assessment of Student Learning.

Bond election set for Tuesday, February 9, 2010 The bond package is based on a level tax rate. When the tax rate for 2010 is set by the county, with approval by voters, the proposition will continue the existing tax rate over the life of the new bond.

GEAR UP is at Lochburn! The purpose of the Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) is to support early college preparation and awareness activities in order to increase the number of disadvantaged students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education.

Parent Assistant
Clover Park School District's Parent Assistant provides parents and guardians secure web access to information regarding their children's demographic information, attendance activity, reporting period grades, daily assignments and class schedules via the Internet.

The Parent Assistant link requires a login name and password. Please contact Lochburn's Guidance Office at (253) 583-5429 for information on how to obtain a user id and password or for more information about accessing the features of Parent Assistant.

For best results in accessing eSIS, use the browser Firefox available for free from Mozilla. In addition while you are working in eSIS, it may be necessary to lower the security settings on your computer to Medium or Low due to the number of pop up screens in eSIS.

*Please note that for a few days before each progress report, access to some screens will be turned off, this will allow teachers the time they need for finalizing the students grades.

Student Online Achievement Resources (SOAR)
SOAR is an innovative program that makes it easy for parents to play an active role in their children’s education.
Students take an assessment aligned to state standards, and SOAR directs them to individualized tutorials to improve skills where needed. Parents can monitor their children’s progress from anywhere, and are provided with resource materials.

On Line Tutoring For Students Live Homework Help every day, 3-10 p.m. @ www.piercecountylibrary.org/kids-teens. Live Homework Help® also offers help for Spanish speaking students in the subjects of math and science Sunday through Thursday, 3 to 7 p.m.
