Dear Families,
I believe this will be my last newsletter of the year. It has been a very busy year. I have enjoyed
working with this class very much. Most of you have probably heard that this group is my last class
at Martha Lake. I’ve decided to move my family up north to Whatcom County to be closer to family and
friends. I’m very sad to leave the Martha Lake community. It is a very special place to work.
Next Tuesday June 17th will be my final day with the students. My son is graduating from 8th grade
at Madrona on June 18th and I want to be there. I’m going to try my best to scoot back to MLE to
wave goodbye on the 18th but can make no guarantees. So the kids and I will be saying goodbye on the
17th. Mrs. Scott will be here on the 18th and will take the kids to the assembly and pass out
report cards.
Tuesday June 10th- Concert (Tonight)
Thursday June 12th is Intermediate Field Day from 1:30-3:15. Please make sure kids are dressed
appropriately. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up!
Friday June 13th is our 4th grade field trip to the Seattle Art Museum. I do not have permission
slips from 4 students. Please send in slips and money ASAP!
Monday June 16th we will be cleaning out our desks and bringing things home. Please send kids to
school with empty backpacks and extra bags.
Tuesday June 17th we will be cleaning the room in the morning and having a class goodbye party in
the afternoon. Please send in treats (preferably low sugar).
Wednesday June 18th- last day of school and a half-day!
Friday Field Trip Update!
We have ordered a district bus to take us to the Seattle Art Museum. If the district cancels this
bus like they did for the Children’s Theater the field trip will be cancelled. Cross your fingers!
Please don’t forget to send a PAPER BAG LUNCH and an empty backpack. Students can bring ______ to
spend at the market. Please don’t send more. I also recommend a small full water bottle, and a light
jacket.
I have the following parents signed up to attend. It is not to late to join us!

Please contact me immediately if this list is not accurate. Parents please arrive by 8:45 so that I
can give you information before the students arrive.
* We HAVE ROOM ON THE BUS FOR PARENTS!!! We will not need you to carpool.
