Homework

Children are made readers on the laps of their parents.(1994)

Developing good school learning habits begins in kindergarten. One way to start is by helping your child complete their homework to turn in by the due date.

I have two pieces of homework that go home once a week on Friday. They can be turned in by Friday of the next week.

1.  Read to your child everyday. Fill out the reading log and sign it.  (Please try and read with your child for 60 minutes every week. This can be divided up through the week.) Reading Log Champ Certificates are given to students who turn in most of their reading logs. They are recognized for this achievement.

2.  An alphabet letter paper. (To complete the homework it can be as simple as your child writing the letter on the paper, or writing a few words that begin with that letter. It can also be elaborate like cutting pictures from a magazine that begin with that letter. The most important aspect of homework at this age is to have fun while doing it.) Homework Hero Certificates are given to students who turn in most of their homework. They are recognized for this achievement.

Sometimes I have a special homework projects. I will send home instructions on how top complete the task. These are usually a fun project for the whole family to get involved.
