SUCCESSFUL STUDENT TRAITS:
Successful Student Traits are the key feature of guiding what behaviors are
acceptable at school. These will lead to students becoming part of our
local and greater society.
HOMEWORK:
We will be having important practices at school on reading strategies and
math strategies. These things will be in homework as additional practice
for the kids. If they do not get this practice done, it will hinder their
progress and success. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU REMIND KIDS TO TURN IN
HOMEWORK!!!
WASL IS NOT A FOUR LETTER WORD!:
In addition to our regular studies, we will begin practicing test-taking
skills for the WASL in spring. Please understand that despite the fact that
the state mandates a yearly test of student progress, this is a fabulous
opportunity for the kids to begin to ready themselves for upper education
opportunities like in high school and college. Studies show that test-
taking strategies are just as important as practicing good reading
strategies and math problem-solving strategies. Isn't our goal as educators
and parents to ready our children to become a part of our society and
world? Early practice and yearly practice will help our kids do well later
in their educational goals. It is my dream as well as yours that our kids
have success in all they do.
