My name is Michelle Leingang and I have lived in the Pacific Northwest my
whole life except for one year when I moved to find the sun and beach in San
Diego, CA when I was 21. It was a fun year but I missed the smell of the
rain, the seasons, and especially my family. I attended Woodrow Wilson High
School and received an AA from Tacoma Community College. I received a
Bachelors in Liberal Arts from University of Washington Tacoma Campus and
went on to Antioch University to receive my Masters in Education and
Teacher's Certificate.

I substituted in Tacoma for many years in all grades K-8. I was raising a
young family and was not ready to work full-time. However, a great
opportunity came my way to job share with my great friend Kim Elliot in 3rd
grade at Park Lodge. Kim and I worked together for 3 fabulous years. I then
accepted the Classroom Coach position at Park Lodge and maintained that
position for 2 years. I am now happily in my own classroom teaching the most
amazing 3rd graders. I created a homey environment in my classroom to
include a reading center with a couch, bean bags, and a fireplace (fake of
course).

I have been married to Scott Leingang for 8+ years and have daughter Moirin
11 years old in 6th grade and Zach 7 years old in 1st grade. My family
brings me so much joy and although I love teaching the kids each day I can't
wait to go home and be with my family for the evening and weekends.

My favorite things to do are reading, going to movies, playing with my kids,
socializing with my friends, traveling, and spending time with my family. My
favorite book(s) are the Harry Potter series. I have saved all of them for
my daughter to read. So far she hasn't shown as much interest as I did, but
she might later.
