Welcome to my classroom website! I am currently teaching a fourth/fifth
grade loop at Purdy Elementary. I am beginning my fourteenth year of
teaching, the last seven of which have been spent at Purdy Elementary. I
started at Purdy seven years ago as the enrichment/challenge teacher. I love
teaching, working with students and watching them learn!
I graduated from Washington State University in elementary education with a
minor in natural science. I also love math, probably even more than I love
science. Yes, I am also a proud coug!
Besides being a teacher, I am also a wife and mother. I have been married
to my husband Dave for sixteen years who is a high school career counselor
in Central Kitsap. I have two children, John and Megan, whom I am very
proud of and who keep me very busy. I love to spend time with my family,
travel, camp, hike, read, and bake.
The goals of my teaching career are to make a difference in the lives of
today's students and to inspire them to do their best. I had teachers in my
life that made a big difference in shaping who I am today; I would love to
return the favor to my own students.
