About The Teacher
I have been teaching at River's Edge High School since 1999 and I love teaching here! The students and staff are awesome and I am convinced this is the best science job in the whole district. I have a chemistry degree from University of Oregon and I received my teaching credentials for University of Illinois in 1985. My first teaching job was teaching chemistry and physics in a private high school for students who wanted to be ballet dancers. My students were from all over the U.S. - they went to school in the morning and then danced all afternoon and evening. I then moved to the Tri-Cities in 1987 with my husband and my 6 month old son, Eric. Between 1992 and 1999 I taught at CBC Early Childhood Education Department as a pre-school teacher and as a parent educator. My daughter, Emily, was born in 1989. My husband, Tom, is a science researcher at PNNL and both of my children are attending college. To keep me busy I have many animals on my little farm - horses, chickens, cats, birds, fish and my sweet dog, Gracie.
