Kinders - November - December
During November and December the kinders will infuse theater and literacy as
we work on the elements of setting, character, and plot. Together we will
analyze and create story dramas around the picture book Barn Dance in
November and The Nutcracker in December.
First Grade - November - December
During November and December the First Graders will infuse theater and
literacy as we work on the elements of producing a play. This will include
developing a character, reading a script and remembering cues. Each first
grade class will produce their own version of The Gingerbread Revue with
singing, dancing and lines to learn!
Second Grade - October - November
During October and November the Second Graders will work on the theater
elements of mime and movement (simple tasks, slow movement, exaggeration,
expression, energy and silence).
All of the second grades will infuse mime with their study of balance and
motion in science.
