Blood Spatter Analysis I

Facts of the case so far:

Mr. Bludgeon is a tax accountant working in a small office located on the
Sammamish Plateau. Based on an interview with his wife, he was at work at
his desk at 1:30 PM on April 14th. That was the last moment he was seen or
heard alive. Custodians working in the Skyline Office Park discovered
Bludgeon’s dead body in his office. His body was carefully picked up so as
not to disturb any evidence at the crime scene. His body was then taken to
the Medical Examiners Office.

Assignment:

You have been summoned to the crime scene by the Sammamish Police
Department. After studying the blood spatter evidence in Bludgeon’s office
you have arrived at a series of conclusions and speculations about what
happened. Prepare a typewritten report that summarizes your findings. Your
report should be as descriptive as possible noting approximate measures of
distances and references i.e., north wall doorway, etc. You may take
photographs (a maximum of three to enhance your report. You should also
prepare a brief sketch of the crime scene that documents important elements
of your analysis.

Important Note: As you study the crime scene, ignore/do not factor into
your analysis the blood evidence identified as marker #1.

At a minimum, your report should respond to the following questions:

1.	Where, how was the victim positioned at the time of the murder?

2.	Was there one act or several that explain this crime scene?

3.	What was the position of the suspect in relation to the victim at
the time of the murder?

4.	What type of weapon did the suspect use?

5.	What were the likely actions of the suspect?

6.	Is the suspect right or left handed?
