Philosophy of Kindergarten

Kindergarten is a Child's Garden. Kindergarten is a place to love and be loved, to explore and discover. It is a time of wonder and of joyful learning. It is process, not product, oriented. It's a time of celebration of language through songs, poetry and stories. It's a time of making friends and learning to be a friend. We roll our sleeves up and get messy making papier mache. We hold worms and snails. We mix paint colors to see what happens. We make birthday cupcakes and go on field trips. We read hundreds of books. By the end of the year, the children will have learned much about reading, writing, science and mathematical concepts. They will know more about their faith and their God who loves them. And they will have a mind full of happy memories. And they will leave this child's garden ready to further develop their love of God, each other, and a love of learning.
