Due Friday the 25th of September: Test over Chapter one: Example essay:

God first revealed himself through creation. Just like our parents who love children God loves all that
He has created, especially humans. Through the covenant with Abraham God shows he has a special
relationship with the Jews, his chosen people. It will be through the Jewish people that God reveals
how he wants us to live. God does this through the Ten Commandments and the prophets. All this
is
found in the Old Testament.
It is through the prophets that God lets us know that he reveal himself more fully through his only
son
Jesus, the messiah. In the New Testament through Jesus God shares with us how he loves us, as a
father. It is also through Jesus we learn that if we follow Jesus we will be granted everlasting life with
him in heaven. All we have to do is love everyone as we love ourselves. The lessons are best shown
to
us in the Beatitudes.
Finally God reveals himself to us because He wants us to enter into an everlasting friendship with
Him.
He wants us to care for His creations as he did. He wants us to know Him, but he also wants us to
have
to choose him based on faith, and not scientific fact. God granted us free will so we would have to
choose Him based on faith in His teachings. Those teachings are revealed to us in the Bible.
