What's New

Squish and Crunch!!

It's that lovely time of the year to fit in the last of exciting learning to wrap up this great school year!

Eighth graders have learned that "All animals are created equal, but some animals are more equal than others!" (Animal Farm by George Orwell.)  Now the class is finishing off the year with a persuasive essay which incorporates pathos, ethos and logos to create a solid case for their argument.

Seventh grade is thinking about things we take for granted as the novel The Giver by Lois Lowry gives them food for thought. Hmmm, another example of utopia having some flaws...

Laughter, love and life are highlighted as the sixth graders travel across the country with Sal and her grandparents in Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech. The Native American culture is highlighted in this great book.  "Don't judge a man until you've walked two moons in his mocassins."

All of the levels are sparking more learning with our Wordly Wise adventures helping to add to more succinct articulation skills. :-)  Being more than just spelling, this program is excellent for all ages to comprehend and apply vocabulary in real life.

Each of your students are a gift and with that in mind, I view them carefully and acutely. I wish the best for all. Thank you for sharing them with me.

Best wishes!
