We are excited about our '08-'09 Marshall Alternative Program Learning Community. Feel free to come visit our classroom and share in our learning. As we go through this year we will be learning about the history, geography, economics, and political processes in our country. Students will be doing an in-depth examination of the creation of the United States Constitution and Issues About Constitutional Rights. Science will begin the year with a study of Ecological Principles and the ties to Global Issues and Sustainability. This will be followed by Geological Processes. In the winter we will address some basic chemistry and we'll finish the year with a unit on marine science. The next MAP Council meeting will take place on November 3 at 7:00 in the class- room. This is an organizing meeting. All student council reps. should attend(Jamie, Nick, Lexie, and Jake), as well as parents that head up various committees and anyone else who would like to come. We will be discussing funding for the year's projects and field school. The next M.A.P. Parent Meeting is November 12. We will meet in the classroom to discuss parent volunteering and the year's funding as well as field school plans. Congratulations to Maizy and Sam who have been selected as our representatives to the Marshall A.S.B. Council.
