Physical Education at MMS:
PE grades are based 75% on daily participation, and 25% on weekly test
performance.
Daily participation uses a 10 point per day system. If kids are present and on
time, in their PE clothes, participating, and demonstrating good
sportsmanship, they get all 10 points. When kids have an excused absence,
their grade book entry will be a '*' which means that they get no score. It
is not factored in as a zero, it is a non-score, so it does not affect their
grade. Following will be our 10 point system:
Loss of Points Reasons
6 - not dressing for gym
5 to 10 - behavior and sportsmanship issues
3 - tardy
3 - exercise participation
Once set up, each teachers' will strive to update their grade books weekly.
