Math and Science: Performance is 100% of a student's academic grade: these are summative scores and include (tests, quizzes, oral examinations) because of this test and quizzes can be retaken at any point throughout the quarter as long as it is evident that the student has made an effort to learn the concepts in the problem area. Behavior grade is determined by a student's performance in areas that demonstrate student behaviors are being learned and used. This data is collected from the # of completed assignments turned in, # of assignments turned in on time, students use of class time as shown by their beginning work at the start of class and using collaborative and independent work time wisely. Effort grade will be based on self and teacher evaluations. Late Assignments: • Assignments earn behavior points by being completed on time (the next day) and by having correction made, in ink, when folders are collected on Friday. • Absent work is given one additional day after return (eg: missed Wed assignment due by Friday) • assignments are practice and are a part of the student behavior grade Test Retakes: • Students may retake a test at any time throughout the quarter if they have been working to improve thier performance in the area of the test • Retakes need to be setup with Ms. Hamilton for before or after school or during lunch • The retake will cover the same material as the original test but will not be the same test Math folders • Include all work in order by dates • Are a part of the student behavior score • Must include a self-evaluation sheet • Must include a sheet of paper for each assignment (even those that are missing should be labeled with Assignment heading and date)
